| PRESS RELEASE: 10/14/04 For Immediate Release BENTLEY BEAMS BALANCE TO BAGHDAD Contact: Robyn Bentley (Richmond, VA:) Robyn Bentley, author of Creating a Haven: Simple Steps For a Healthy and Nurturing Home, was recently featured on the Alhurra satellite television network which broadcasts throughout the Middle East. An Alhurra camera crew shadowed Bentley during a feng shui analysis of a 47,000 square foot commercial property currently under renovation on Richmond's northside. Bentley also explained the principles behind the ancient Chinese practice of energy balancing during a sit-down interview at the site. Alhurra is a 24 hour Arabic-language satellite television network which launched in early 2004. It broadcasts from studios in the Washington, D.C. area, and bureaus throughout the Middle East. The network is devoted primarily to news and information. In addition to reporting on regional and international events, the channel broadcasts discussion programs, current affairs magazines and shows on a variety of subjects including health and personal fitness, entertainment, sports, fashion, and science and technology. Bentley's feng shui segment was part of Alhurra's "Magazine" program that aired in September. Bentley is no stranger to the foreign press. In addition to her regional feng shui practice, she has educated and entertained thousands of radio listeners as guest expert “Feng Shui Diva” on stations across the US and in Canada, Ireland, England, and New Zealand. Some of these interviews can be heard on her tutorial web site fengshuidiva.com in the "Press" section. Video stills from the Alhurra segment can also be viewed in the "Press" section. In her new book Creating a Haven: Simple Steps For a Healthy and Nurturing Home, Bentley explores several different kinds of visible and invisible negatives that can be in your home and affecting your life. She combines ancient and modern day metaphysical and scientific practices from America, Native America, China and Germany to give the reader the tools to deal with both seen and unseen negatives in the home. These practices include Flying Star feng shui, energy clearing, reducing exposure to EMFs, dowsing for geopathic stress, home detox, clutter control, and the psychological impact of your possessions. The goal of Creating a Haven is zero negativity in the home. According to Bentley, once you know what you have in your home and how to work with it, you can take control and turn your home into a haven. In a July 19, 2004 Virginia Newswire report, a survey of Iraq conducted by Oxford Research International showed that 61 percent of Iraqi adults had watched Alhurra (Arabic for "The Free One") in the previous week. The satellite channel can be seen in 22 countries throughout the region including Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Kuwait, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. Alhurra is operated by a non-profit corporation called “The Middle East Television Network, Inc.” (MTN). MTN is financed 100% by the U.S. Congress and supervised by the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG), the independent, autonomous entity responsible for all U.S. government and government sponsored, non-military, international broadcasting. The mission of the BBG is to promote and sustain freedom and democracy by broadcasting accurate and objective news and information about the United States and the world to audiences overseas. Bentley offers residential and commercial feng shui consultations in the mid-atlantic region. She can be reached in via her web site www.fengshuidiva.com. # # #
