Feng Shui Diva's Tips For Holiday Decorations The holidays are a lot of fun but they also bring a lot of stress. Everything we have to do for the holidays is piled on top of everything we normally have to do. But did you ever think your holiday decorations might be causing illness, stress, or depression? Think about it for a minute. During the holidays, is there more sickness in your household? Do you argue more? Do you feel depressed? If so, the problem might be coming from your holiday decorations. Here are a few things to watch out for: |
|
Be Careful With The Element “Fire” The color red and holiday lights add the element “fire” to
your home. In some places, fire can be beneficial. In others, it can
cause problems. During 2011, there is
illness energy in the East and South compass sections of every home and the
element fire makes it worse. To be on the safe side, don’t use a lot
of red or lights (especially in the East and South). Other holiday colors
like silver, gold, and white are less intense.

Don’t Create Obstacles With Your Decorations If you have to step over it, duck under it, or squeeze by,
it’s going to add more stress to your holiday. Too much clutter makes
the “chi flow” or energy flow in your home slow down and get stuck. This
can make you feel stuck or depressed. A good cleaning and clutter
clearing before you add decorations is a good idea.

|
Tap Into Your Happy Childhood Go through your old photos when you were a kid excited about
the holidays. Use a color copier to enlarge them to 8x10 or 11x14
mini posters and put them in inexpensive box frames or clip frames. If you
have old holiday pictures of friends and family who will be coming to visit,
make some fun mini posters of them too. Think of how good it will
make them feel to see themselves in your home.

Lights Out At Bedtime For A More Positive Mood Melatonin is the hormone that regulates your mood and your
sleep. Your body produces melatonin when your eyes signal your brain
that it’s nighttime. Light makes your body think it’s daytime. To keep your
body making the right amount of melatonin for better sleep and a more positive
mood, make sure you’re sleeping in the dark. Don’t sleep with the light
on, or a holiday light display.
